Looking Forward Challenge

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to 2018. This was our challenge for this fortnight at The Studio Challenges, that is what are we looking forward to in 2018. So with this is mind I created this layout:

I used a free cut file from Paper Issues and backed it with patterned paper from Pink Paislee, from Paige Evans' Turn The Page line. The embellishments come from this range too. Plus I did some smooshing of sprays on the background. Here is my video of the process:

Well that's it for now. I'll be back soon with lots of photos of my layouts that I have completed over the last few days whilst at my friend's house scrapbooking. It was such a fun way to end of the year. My best wishes for a great new years.

Take care and happy scrapping,
Helen xx

Sketch It Out Thursday

Hi all,

This week I'm back on The Crafty Maven Getaway for Sketch It Out Thursday. I am using the current sketch from Stuck Sketches to create my layout.

Here is my finished layout:

This is the sketch:

I used the triangle to make a tree out of Christmas buttons plus created a gold background using Heidi Swapp Colour Shine. Most of the embellishments are from Crate Paper plus some really old pieces I found in my stash. The background glitter crardstock is a Doodlebug piece from 2007!!

Here is the video if you wish to watch the process:

Well that's it for now.
Take care and happy crafting,

The Studio Challenges - Sparkle and Shine

Hi all,

It's time for a new challenge over on The Studio Challenges blog. This fortnight the challenge is to create a layout using sparkle and shine. This is the layout I created:

I think I may have gone a little bit overboard with my sparkle! I had a roll of American Crafts glitter and tape and I covered some cardstock with it so that I could die cut some leaves out of it. I also found some butterflies made out of gems in my stash plus I used my new favourite glitter letters that are years old.

Here is the process video for this layout, if you're interested:

It would be great to see you join in with the fun.

Well that's it for now, take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx

Weekend Capers

Hi all,

I've had a busy weekend scrapbooking wise. My Scraplift Saturday video went live plus I was also involved with the online crop for The Crafty Maven Getaway.

First up: I found a layout on Pinterest to scrap lift , however, when I tried to find the creator of it I found that it had been deleted from Scrapbook.com and thus couldn't find out any details. Thank you to whom ever made the page as it sparked my creativity. Mind you it was not a full on scrap lift as I kind of went off on a tangent but at least I started with the hanging hearts idea.
Here is my layout:

This is the layout I scrap lifted:

Here is my process video if you are interested in finding out how I made the page:

For our online crop I hosted the 7pm challenge, it was a tic tac toe challenge. Here is the game board:
This is my page that I made using the central horizontal line:

Here is a video explaining the challenge plus a process video for the layout:

Well that's it for now.
Take care and have fun crafting,

The Studio Challenges Design Team

Hello all,

I have great news, I am now a design team member for The Studio Challenges site!! I'm very excited to be part of the team and thankful that Anna asked me.

My first challenge starts today and it is a sketch challenge. Here is my take of the sketch:

This is the sketch for the challenge:

To make my page, I started with choosing my photos and then the large horizontal piece of patterned paper from the sketch, it comes form the Maggie Holmes/Crate Paper Bloom collection. As I was looking at the colours in the photos I thought that kraft card stock would make a good background and then I though some white stencilling would add some nice details. Before long I had made the page and was adding gold Heidi Shine (Heidi Swapp Colour Shine) and some puffy hearts to finish off. This is a great sketch to work with and I had a lot of fun making my first page for the Studio Challenges team.

Well that's it for now, I'm off to create some more.
Take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx

Scraplift Saturday

Hi all,

I should be busy writing reports at the moment, however, I'm finding it hard to get going! So instead I'm updating my blog. On Saturday I uploaded my latest video for The Crafty Maven Getaway channel, it was a scrap lift layout. I saw a layout by Mari Clarke and it made me think of a photo of me taken in Scotland so I decided to scrap lift it. Here is my layout:

This is Mari's layout:

and here is my video:

As you can see I've used some die cuts that I cut with my Silhouette machine and then coloured up with some sprays, lots of fun.

Well that's it for now,

Craft Catch Up

Hi all,

How is everyone? Life is getting very hectic at the moment as it is coming into school report writing time (well actually I should have really started by now!). I went away on school camp and then came home and had to make 3 videos in as many days. These are the layouts and cards that I made and recorded.

First, was my card and video for Mix It Up Monday. I had a lot of fun using up my stash making this card.

I also made a Halloween inspired layout for my YouTube hop with my "Challenge Your Stash" girls. I used up some old Carta Bella papers and some photos from 2013.

My third project was for Free Flow Wednesday on The Crafty Maven Getaway channel, where I took a bit of a detour on the development of my layout.

Well that's it for now. I'll be back in a couple of weeks - after I've finished writing reports!

Take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx

Art Party Friday

Hi all,

I'm back with a quick post as I was up on The Crafty Maven Getaway channel yesterday for Art Party Friday.  When I sat down to scrap I looked to my right and found all my leftover supplies from Monday's lesson and because I had so much fun making that one I decided to do another similar style of layout. It's even purple again too!

Here is the accompanying video:

Well that's it for today, until next time . . .
Have fun and happy crafting,

School Holiday Scrapping

Hi all,

I just love school holidays, I can stay up late, scrapbook whenever I feel like it, watch t.v. oh and do those jobs on the holiday job list! I have sorted my wardrobe plus done some much needed gardening and also completed three layouts and three videos in the last week.

For Stash It Monday on The Crafty Maven Getaway channel I dove deep into my stash and created this purple layout. I used colouring mediums that haven't been used in quite some time too.

Here is the video:

Also for The Crafty Maven Getaway channel I created this layout for Free Flow Wednesday. I used mainly the Lovely Day collection by Dear Lizzy plus I added some wooden embellishments and coloured in the cars with Prismacolor pencils.

Here is the video for this layout.

The last layout for the week is one for the Challenge Your Stash YouTube hop group I belong to. The theme this month was Fall but as I am an Aussie and we are having Spring at the moment I looked through my photos and found this old one of me and although the photo was taken during springtime in Holland I could use fall colours with it, so I did!

And here's the video for this one!

That's it for me, although I am heading to the craft room this afternoon so more will follow soon.
Take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx

Scrapbooking Update

Hi all,

Oopsy! I haven't updated my blog for over a month, however, I have made a layout or two and recorded a couple of videos.

My latest layout/video went live today and it was a Sketch It Thursday layout. I used the 15th September sketch from Stuck Sketches and created a layout (and video) about my pet frogs' visit to school. Here it is:

Also this month I created a scrap lift layout using the summer collection from Felicity Jane. I scrap lifted a layout by Jessica Fabiano from the Hip Kit Design Team.

Finally, I also a layout for Free Flow Wednesday, albeit it was a bit layout being uploaded as I was sick and had to have quite a few days off work just love the winter lurgies. It is a layout about when I went to watch some boys from my class play football one Saturday morning.

Well that's it for my update.

Take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx

I'm back!

Seems like there are 3 posts this weekend, however, one was in my drafts and I forgot to post it but it's done now . . oops!

I have also played along with the Stuck Sketches' 1st August sketch and here is what I created:

Plus I have created (finished off) another layout using Make Your Mark from Bella Blvd.

Now I'm off to finish my fifth flower canvas before the weekend ends.

Crafty Maven Getaway Layouts

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing great, life has been hectic at work and then I got sick and had a real husky voice for a few days but feeling much better now and looking forward to a weekend of scrapping fun with a couple of my Scrapbook Besties!

I've had a few videos go live in the last few weeks (and a few more coming up soon). They have both been layouts for the Crafty Maven Getaway channel. This one went live yesterday, albeit a bit late due to my sickness, and it was for Art Party Friday last week.

Here is the video:

August's Challenge Your Stash Layout and Video

Hello everyone!

I'm having a marvellous time this weekend as two of my close friends have stayed over and we have been scrapbooking, talking and eating for the last 2 days. I managed to fit in the filming, recording and uploading of this month's Challenge Your Stash video.

Our theme is pets and I dug in my stash and found some Teresa Collins Nine & Co from 2014 and used that. I also used the Stuck Sketches August 15th sketch for my layout design. Here are my layout and Laura's great sketch:

Here is the link to my video:

I'll be back soon with all the layouts I've made this weekend.
Take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx

Stuck Sketches Guest Designer

Hi all,

I was thrilled when I was chosen to be the guest designer on Stuck Sketches for the second half of July and loved the sketch when Laura sent it through. I pulled out my Simple Stories papers (most come from the Domestic Bliss) range and had a ball making my layout, so much so that I recorded it and made a process video.

Here is my layout and the sketch:

I would love it if you joined in with all the fun. Here is my video:

Well that's it for now. My holidays are coming to an end and I have to start doing some school work, however, I have one last video going live tomorrow.
