Looking Forward Challenge

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to 2018. This was our challenge for this fortnight at The Studio Challenges, that is what are we looking forward to in 2018. So with this is mind I created this layout:

I used a free cut file from Paper Issues and backed it with patterned paper from Pink Paislee, from Paige Evans' Turn The Page line. The embellishments come from this range too. Plus I did some smooshing of sprays on the background. Here is my video of the process:

Well that's it for now. I'll be back soon with lots of photos of my layouts that I have completed over the last few days whilst at my friend's house scrapbooking. It was such a fun way to end of the year. My best wishes for a great new years.

Take care and happy scrapping,
Helen xx

Sketch It Out Thursday

Hi all,

This week I'm back on The Crafty Maven Getaway for Sketch It Out Thursday. I am using the current sketch from Stuck Sketches to create my layout.

Here is my finished layout:

This is the sketch:

I used the triangle to make a tree out of Christmas buttons plus created a gold background using Heidi Swapp Colour Shine. Most of the embellishments are from Crate Paper plus some really old pieces I found in my stash. The background glitter crardstock is a Doodlebug piece from 2007!!

Here is the video if you wish to watch the process:

Well that's it for now.
Take care and happy crafting,

The Studio Challenges - Sparkle and Shine

Hi all,

It's time for a new challenge over on The Studio Challenges blog. This fortnight the challenge is to create a layout using sparkle and shine. This is the layout I created:

I think I may have gone a little bit overboard with my sparkle! I had a roll of American Crafts glitter and tape and I covered some cardstock with it so that I could die cut some leaves out of it. I also found some butterflies made out of gems in my stash plus I used my new favourite glitter letters that are years old.

Here is the process video for this layout, if you're interested:

It would be great to see you join in with the fun.

Well that's it for now, take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx

Weekend Capers

Hi all,

I've had a busy weekend scrapbooking wise. My Scraplift Saturday video went live plus I was also involved with the online crop for The Crafty Maven Getaway.

First up: I found a layout on Pinterest to scrap lift , however, when I tried to find the creator of it I found that it had been deleted from Scrapbook.com and thus couldn't find out any details. Thank you to whom ever made the page as it sparked my creativity. Mind you it was not a full on scrap lift as I kind of went off on a tangent but at least I started with the hanging hearts idea.
Here is my layout:

This is the layout I scrap lifted:

Here is my process video if you are interested in finding out how I made the page:

For our online crop I hosted the 7pm challenge, it was a tic tac toe challenge. Here is the game board:
This is my page that I made using the central horizontal line:

Here is a video explaining the challenge plus a process video for the layout:

Well that's it for now.
Take care and have fun crafting,

The Studio Challenges Design Team

Hello all,

I have great news, I am now a design team member for The Studio Challenges site!! I'm very excited to be part of the team and thankful that Anna asked me.

My first challenge starts today and it is a sketch challenge. Here is my take of the sketch:

This is the sketch for the challenge:

To make my page, I started with choosing my photos and then the large horizontal piece of patterned paper from the sketch, it comes form the Maggie Holmes/Crate Paper Bloom collection. As I was looking at the colours in the photos I thought that kraft card stock would make a good background and then I though some white stencilling would add some nice details. Before long I had made the page and was adding gold Heidi Shine (Heidi Swapp Colour Shine) and some puffy hearts to finish off. This is a great sketch to work with and I had a lot of fun making my first page for the Studio Challenges team.

Well that's it for now, I'm off to create some more.
Take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx
