Growing in Unity - Day Three

Hello everyone,

Can you believe it, we're halfway through the week already! Time flies when you are having fun or extremely busy.

Today, I'm doing a bit of a comparison as I've made the same card twice but I have chosen different mediums to colour Tess Girl, from the Angiegirl collection, in with.

For the lefthand card I coloured Tess in with Derwent Inktense pencils, which I activated with a water brush as they are watercolour pencils and for the righthand card I coloured her in with normal colouring in pencils. Some patterned paper, gems and an inked wooden word and this simple card is finished.

Which medium did you like the best?

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to leave a comment. See you tomorrow.

Take care and happy crafting,
Helen xx

  1. I like watercolored one. I use water color pencils all the time, it seems to be the only way I get my cards the way I like them. I blend with baby oil and stumps. Carry a little bag with me to every appointment so I can sit and color while waiting and not watch time

  2. I like em both. The shading is nice with the derwent pencils but I really like the soft textured look of the second one as well. Lovely design. Hugz

  3. I like them both, the colors and shading looks great. It would be hard to chose.

  4. Both are great! Watercoloring is not a skill that I have, yours is awesome!

  5. I love both of these cards. If I had to choose it would probably be the watercolor pencil one. I love the variation in color. The die cut word is great too. Thanks for the inspiration!

  11. AWESOME both of them! But I guess if I have to choose I would choose the first Tess Girl card on the left! I think the shading is more defined in the first card than it is in the second one! BUT I really do love them both!!

  14. I like the watercolored image the best (they're both nice though). I love watercolor, but it doesn't love me. I really struggle with it. Tess girl was one of my first Angie girl purchases and she is still one of my favorites. Love your cards.

  15. Love the one on the left with the Inktense pencils! I have a set of those pencils and haven't even tried them yet! Now I am wondering where I put them!

  16. I like seeing the same stamp done with different mediums. I think I like the one on the left better, but I have problems getting my watercolor pencils to look as good as your does. I tend to use Gamsol if I use regular pencils.

  20. Well, they’re both very well made but to me, there’s a bit more depth on the left hand card. So I’d go with the watercolor pencils. And even more because I know those Inktense from Derwent and they’re great !

  22. Watercolor is my favorite but I'm starting to enjoy my prismacolors if I blend with gamsol. Both of these ladies are gorgeous, I love the brightness of the inktense pencils!
